About the Company
Our client is a well-known group of companies in SEA who offers a truly comprehensive suite of financial services that includes investment, fund management, and insurance. Currently they are actively looking for Head of Valuation who has a strong background in actuarial valuation in life insurance companies. (Expat also welcome)
- Ensure the punctual and precise delivery of routine reports, with the ability to analyze and provide business insights derived from regular actuarial submissions. Reporting encompasses, but is not confined to, monthly reserving, OIC and TLAA reports, RBC, AVR, stress tests, etc.
- Generate and guarantee the accurate submission of the Business Plan, requiring a candidate with a robust understanding and analytical skills for effective business projection.
- Establish a modeling management and maintenance process, providing guidance to the team on result verification from modeling. Hands-on experience is required.
- Review regular experience studies, offering in-depth recommendations for business improvement. Deep understanding of methodology, assumption setting, application, and impact analyses is necessary.
- Engage and communicate with stakeholders such as regulators and auditors about the company’s results.
- Lead the IFRS 17 project and actively participate in setting up the reporting. Strong technical skills in the actuarial domain are necessary, with experience in IFRS 17 reporting considered a plus.
- Review, enhance, and overhaul existing reporting processes to improve efficiency.
- Experience in Sources of Earning, Value of New Business, and Embedded Value will be advantageous.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the life insurance sector, with a substantial 5+ years dedicated to valuation activities.
- Demonstrate substantial progress in actuarial exams, holding at least the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
- Exhibit a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience in actuarial valuation processes, accompanied by robust technical and analytical skills.
- Showcase proficiency as a seasoned user of both Excel and actuarial modeling software.
- Possess technical and analytical skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Demonstrate effective communication of decisions and issues to senior management, supported by strong communication and presentation skills.
- Display proficient spoken and written communication skills in English.
- Exhibit dynamism and enthusiasm, coupled with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Showcase potential in management and leadership, with the ability to train and develop junior staff.
