Pastry & Bakery Chef

INDIGO Bakery & Gelato Koh Phangan is looking for experienced and talented Bakery & Pastry Chef to manage our bakery and pastry department.

INDIGO Cafe & Bakery is a fast-growing and one of the most visited cafes on Koh Phangan island. We are looking for an applicant who loves to work and live on the beautiful island Koh Phangan, where the beautiful beaches and nature draw the tourists all over the world both short and long-term stay.


  • All nationalities are welcome.
  • Minimum 3-5 year in bakery and pastry in established bakery shops/ hotels / restaurants.
  • Passion in bakery and creating pastry.
  • Highly-motivated, time management, good team leader.
  • Clean, organized, systemized.
  • Able to work and be a coach in multi-national workplace.
  • Able to teach and train and delegate the responsibility in the team.
  • A morning person and able to work in early morning
  • Able to do birthday cake.
  • Experience in vegan pastry / french pastry is a plus.
  • Experience in making gelato before is an advantage but not necessary.
  • Able to relocate and work in Koh Phangan minimum 1 year (Yearly contract with extendable option).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the high standard and quality control of Bakery and Pastry products on daily basis.
  • Set and keep improving the system in bakery & pastry department for more effective function, workflow and result.
  • Plan the production quantity and time and delegate the work to the team properly.
  • Plan and coordinate with purchasing to order ingredients effectively and in time.
  • Analyze the sales and grow the Bakery & pastry department in term of profit and products.
  • Doing weekly roster, manpower planning with HR, training, coaching, evaluate the team members.
  • Ensure the hygiene and cleanliness of all areas of bakery and pastry workplace.
  • Managing and organize the stock to be easy to find and count and control the minimum waste.
  • Take care, maintain of all equipments and tools in the workplace to be in good condition at all times.
  • Able to calculate food cost for existing and new products in order to set the price properly.
  • Create seasonal pastry products and birthday cakes times to times.
